Documents including certificates of land purchase, preemption certificates, list of persons entitled to preemption rights, map of the survey of section 34 in Township 3 North, Range 3 West, Grant County, Wisconsin, drawn by H. A. Wiltse, from field notes compiled in 1845; and other items. Material is housed with Series 289 in one archives box. The Inventory of the State Archives of Wisconsin, 1941, lists this series as having come from the Commissioners of Public Lands, known in 1845 as Commissioners of State Lands.
